Me and My Dogs

Me:
Simply, I love dogs.
Having grown up in Cairo seeing many dogs treated badly I decided to dedicate much of my time and energy in making their lives better and in helping humans to understand dogs and their needs.

I have worked as a veterinary care assistant with Animal Friends, Cairo, a charity run organisation and with Dr. Amir at his veterinary practice, at both places I assisted in minor operations and organised the daily nursing care for hundreds of dogs and cats. My work with animals also took me to St. Catherine’s National Park in the Sinai where I was an assistant park ranger, tagging wild animals and studying the eco-system.

I have now settled in the beautiful county of Cornwall with my partner, where over the last five years I have perused my studies in dog behaviour, dog grooming and environmental studies, both at Cornwall College and other national accredited courses. My qualifications in dog grooming are from Canine Design Academy of Grooming, a long and well established grooming school and include City and Guilds level 2 dog grooming. With my combined practical experience, study and knowledge I now provide a multi-levelled holistic service for your dogs grooming, hygiene, handling and nutritional needs. As your dog is a valued member of your family I will do my utmost to make you and your pet at ease in the rather stressful situation of being groomed, especially first timers!  I wholeheartedly look forward to your visit; a cup of coffee and a dog treat are waiting for you and your loved one respectively, and remember we are always happy to talk dogs.
My Dogs:

I have grown up with and have had dogs all my life, both small and large breeds and am therefore am well accustomed to handling a variety of breeds. All of my dogs had long healthy and full lives and gave me faithful and long lasting companionship.

Now our beautiful family members include:

Gypsy , ( Lurcher, 4 yrs )

We have had Gypsy as a puppy from a farm in Redruth. He was six weeks old when he came to us as his mother had mastitis and couldn’t feed him. He has grown up to be a very independent and intelligent dog, quite around the house helping us teach the new members of the dog family how to behave. He gets a little over excited when he meets people and he talks a lot, not to be mistaken for aggresion. He is the pack leader and is a great surfer at the beach!

Florence ‘Princess’ (Italian Spinonie ,2 yrs)

Florence came from Plymouth, she is a typical blond Italian, very willfull and stubborn and motherly, a lovely gentle cuddly teddy bear who loves to sniff out birds on the moor. She thinks of herself as a princess and will only sit in the front seat of the car!

Sinbad (Great Dane,18 months)

Sinbad comes from Birmingham, I always dreamt of a one blue eyed dog and here he is. When we saw his photos we couldn’t resist him and had him as a twelve weeks puppy. His character is shy but he has grown in confidence daily and loves to run and ply with humans and other dogs, notably small Jack Russells one of which he has fallen for called Pippen from London!

Gypsy ,Sinbad ,and Florence are all well adjusted and socialised with humans and with other dogs. They are kept separately from the grooming service area but you are welcome to meet them and give them a pat!
